Through all the changes we have experienced, that is the thing that has remained constant, our culture. As a team, we have not wavered in our dedication to supporting each other. My journey started with Pivotal Data (who absorbed all the employees from my previous company) in 2020, and later we were acquired by Connect in early 2023. The company not only nurtured my professional growth but also provided a familial environment that kept me committed.

I began my career at Connect (then G3 Tel) in 2010 as an admin professional. Under Adam Young's (our CEO) guidance, I quickly adapted, learning the business alongside engineers. Connect encouraged me to take a proactive approach which led me to push my professional development. I subsequently began streamlining processes and creating templates. Over many years at Connect, my role evolved significantly: from admin tasks and helpdesk supervision to pioneering the Service Delivery Manager role, where I built a department from scratch. I concurrently managed projects, contracts, stock, CRM systems, and resources, embodying Connect's "Work Hard and Play Harder" motto. The company not only nurtured my professional growth but also provided a familial environment that kept me committed. Promotions to Head of Service Desk, Head of Service Design, Director of Operations, and ultimately Service Design and Assurance Director reflected the company's trust in my leadership. Connect has deeply enriched my career.

Mutual respect and support have always been the norm, creating an environment where everyone feels valued.

When I started at Connect (then Pivotal Data) in 2014, our team was only 10-12 people, and the office was unfurnished. We designed the space for 24-30 people, and within months, it was complete. Over the next 8 years, we expanded twice to accommodate around 60 people. The open-plan design fostered easy communication, making us work like one big family. The company's rapid growth brought challenges, excitement, job security, and personal development opportunities. The open office setup promoted collaboration, allowing for easy idea exchange and problem-solving. Mutual respect and support have always been the norm, creating an environment where everyone feels valued. Despite changes over the years, the strong sense of community and shared goal of excellence have remained constant. This atmosphere, combined with Connect's dedication to its employees, makes it a truly exceptional place to work, where I feel secure and inspired every day.

Connect has proved that whatever may happen it will prioritise its people.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Connect since 2004, and with Adam Young, our CEO, since 2000. I was the 9th employee at Connect and the 1st engineer! Within the company, I have seen immense professional growth. In 2012 I became Operations Manager, overseeing the engineering resources, service delivery, and internal IT. At this point, I also brought in apprentices. Having been an apprentice in my history with Adam, this brought me great pleasure. Introducing new professionals to a world of growth is deeply rewarding. In an interesting turn of events, I became a ski guide in Austria. Connect allowed me two Winter seasons to follow a personal dream of mine – a testament to the kind of company Connect is. I was able to bring back a fresh perspective on customer service that aided me in my return to the engineering team. Over the years I have seen many changes in the business but Connect has proved that whatever may happen it will prioritise its people.

I joined Connect as a Senior Telephony Engineer and have since advanced to a leadership position.
