Are you ready for the PSTN switch off?

The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) will be fully closed down by 2025.

Ahead of this point, every legacy phone line and broadband connection across the UK will need to be upgraded to a fully digital service that uses internet protocol (IP) across a fibre-based network.

All traditional PSTN lines, such as analogue or digital phone lines, ISDN phone systems used by businesses and older internet connections such as ADSL and FTTC broadband, will all become fully obsolete once the PSTN has been fully switched off.

The future is digital so going forward, all phone calls will be made over the internet using IP technology and solutions such as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol voice technology and broadband services such as SoGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) and FTTP (Fibre to the Premises).

As traditional #PSTN lines phase out, businesses now have a range of advanced connectivity options. Voice over Internet Protocol (#VoIP) enables seamless and flexible voice communication over the internet, ensuring efficient business calls. Fiber to the Business (#FTTB) provides lightning-fast internet directly to offices, enhancing productivity and online operations. Mobile networks and #5G technology offer high-speed internet on-the-go, catering to the needs of mobile businesses. Cloud-based platforms provide accessible collaborative tools, fostering teamwork and innovation. This transition will empower businesses with efficient, fast, and versatile digital connectivity solutions.
