Connect Appoints First Chief Revenue Officer | Connect

Connect appoints first Chief Revenue Officer.

Newly created role will optimise alignment between marketing, sales and customer support.

Communications experts Connect have announced the appointment of Steven Fricker as the company’s first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Steven moves from his previous role as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing to take on this wider responsibility for the company’s growth and go-to-market strategy. As CRO, he will focus on driving revenue by ensuring Connect is offering customers the services and solutions they require.

Since joining Connect in 2020 as VP of Sales & Marketing, Steven has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s solutions to meet customer needs today and in the future. With over 15 years’ experience leading sales operations in the technology industry, he has always emphasised the importance of establishing long-term customer relationships, by going further to understand customer requirements and ensuring effective ongoing support.

He will build on these skills in his new role, providing insight and direction around Connect’s existing and new revenue lines – combining the evidence of sales figures with listening intently to the voice of the customer to guide decision-making.

Steven is excited at the opportunities to increase alignment between sales, service and strategy.

“The creation of the CRO role underlines Connect’s commitment to shaping our offer around what customers want and need – not only in terms of the solutions they buy, but how they buy them, with SaaS models, and the support and service they expect. There’s a shared recognition here that the way to grow revenue is to keep evolving our offer in line with customer demand, and it’s now my responsibility to ensure we do that.”

Connect CEO, Adam Young, sees Steven as the ideal candidate for this new role.

“Steven’s track record of sales success reflects his ability to continually understand customers’ priorities and exceed their expectations. Over the last two years, he’s been applying those skills to support our outside investment board with insight into our existing and new revenue lines. We were unanimous in our decision to ask him to continue this work, in a permanent role that combines his knowledge of the market and insight into future direction, with his deep understanding of customer priorities – all underpinned by the data that never lies: revenue figures. I’m sure Steven will do an outstanding job.”
