Information Technologists’ Company Enlists Support of Connect.
Connect Communications, the telecoms reseller, has today revealed that it has supplied and installed a unified communications infrastructure for the Information Technologists’ Company – a City Livery Company.
The Information Technologists’ Company was established to promote the IT industry and also runs a significant programme of charitable and educational activities. There are approximately 680 leading IT practitioners who belong to the Company, who are from all sides of the IT sector – suppliers and users, hardware and software, and from established multinational companies to newly created start ups.
The communications infrastructure installed by Connect includes a Nortel CS1000 – donated by Nortel – as well as IP phones throughout the Livery and a wireless LAN infrastructure. In addition, the Company has also benefited from a Telephonetics VIP self service speech recognition solution which provides automated operator facilities. The next stage of the rollout will include homeworking facilities provided for the Livery’s members.
Michael Grant, Clerk to the Information Technologists’ Company, said: “We are delighted that Connect Communications, Nortel and Telephonetics VIP have been so generous in their support for the Livery. With the communications infrastructure that Connect has installed, our Company can now better achieve its aim of promoting the IT industry and running our programme of charitable and educational activities.”
Andy Thomas, Managing Director, Connect Communications said: “We are proud to be supporting a noteworthy Livery whose members donate so much of their time to the IT sector and the wider community. The telephony solutions we have provided will enable more effective communication between members and will help the Livery to carry out its charitable activities.”
